Mechanism of action of Laser
- The laser beam penetrates your skin n gets absorbed in hair follicle residing under the skin surface. the laser energy destroys the follicle with the heat it generates. because the laser beam is large in diameter, it affects large no. of hairs simultaneously.
- while in electrolysis, needle is inserted into each hair follicle.
- laser treatment impair the growth capacity of hair follicle when they are in a growth cycle at the time of treatment. All hair follicles are not active at the same time.
- other methods: shaving, tweezing, waxing, creams. but all are temporary n time consuming. though electrolysis is better than these (less than laser), but it is extremely painful n slow.
- non coherent light source do not have a particular wavelength n are not delivering uniform energy resulting in over treating some spots n under treating other spots.
- diode lasers are absorbed highly by skin and hence not safe for all skin types.
- alexandrite n ruby lasers may cause pigmentary changes.
- "the new Lyra laser" is safest (1064nm, longest wavelength).
Great Share! I also think laser is the best option for hair removal. One should go for the laser hair removal treatment without any second thought.
